TeamGroup DELTAα RGB 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit Review - PAGE 1
Mark Watkins - Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 Like ShareTeamGroup DELTAα RGB DDR5 6000 MHz Introduction
TeamGroup has a new line of memory purpose-built for AMD platforms called the DELTAα (Delta Alpha), featuring only EXPO timings as opposed to XMP timings that have been around for ages. The EXPO timings are designed for AMD X670 Series and Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs, and are intended to be the optimal frequency for this platform. This kit features RGB lighting with ultra-wide lighting strips and decorated aluminum heat spreaders available in either black or white. This kit has a somewhat tight CAS 38 at 1.25V, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.
TeamGroup has allowed me to test this kit out on Intel platforms, as some Intel motherboards do support EXPO timings as well... such as my MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi! That means we will be testing the DELTAα with that and an Intel i9-13900K.
The TeamGroup DELTAα 2x16GB DDR5-6000 kit is offered at a list price of $199.99 USD, can be found discounted on etailers Amazon for $149.99 to as low as for $99.99 (for both black and white variants).
TeamGroup DELTAα RGB DDR5 6000 MHz Closer Look
The packaging for the TeamGroup DELTAα memory is clear and succinct, with the front showing both the white and black heat spreaders, with a sticker at the top to denote which capacity and speed this packaging contains. The back of the packaging covers the main features in several languages. The DELTAα memory is kept safely in a standard plastic clamshell, and comes with a sticker and user manual. Inside the shipping container I found an additional promotional keychain.

The memory has a unique design that helps it stand apart from the more common straight-topped designs found on other kits. Decorative filigree, fancy cuts, and dimples add style while a large light diffuser bar displays the RGB lighting dramatically. The heat spreader is cut out to highlight some of the light diffuser on one side in a unique way. The aluminum heat spreaders are plenty adequate for EXPO operating performances.

TeamGroup DELTAα RGB DDR5 6000 MHz Testing
To test the TeamGroup DELTAα DDR5-6000 2x16GB memory kit, we will use the latest Intel Raptor Lake i9-13900K CPU on an MSI Z790 Carbon WiFi motherboard. Testing is done with factory EXPO settings first, and then with overclocked settings that push for what users can reasonably expect to achieve with this kit.
Testing Setup
- Case: Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB
- Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi
- CPU: Intel i9-13900K
- CPU Cooler: Thermaltake TOUGHLIQUID Ultra 360
- GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid
- RAM: TeamGroup DELTAα RGB DDR5 6000 2x16GB
- OS SSD: XPG Atom 50 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4
- OS: Windows 11 Pro
- PSU: EVGA Supernova 1600 P+
The EXPO settings showed up right away; these are called iEXPO on the Intel system, but it’s all the same otherwise. The iEXPO profiles even allow you to save a user-defined profile to the memory, and seeing the current operating temperature is a nice bonus! The stock EXPO performance is solid, with plenty of bandwidth for any tasks. Overclocking headroom is phenomenal, but I settled on an overclock that still had some room: I ended up with DDR5-6600 and CL30-37-37-30, which is much faster and tighter than the stock EXPO settings. With these new settings I achieved a much better result across the board, but for most people the EXPO settings are already perfect for both AMD and Intel systems right now.
TeamGroup DELTAα RGB DDR5 6000 MHz Conclusion
The TeamGroup DELTAα memory is fast out of the box with EXPO settings. Both current-generation AMD and Intel platforms have a sweet spot around DDR5-6000 for price and performance, and TeamGroup have hit a homerun with this kit! Overclocking is always a bonus, and this kit handled it excellently. The styling of the TeamGroup DELTAα is fascinating, and looks wonderful when installed. Note that the light diffuser is so large that you can’t really see the gaps between the LEDs like you can on other kits.
You can get the TeamGroup DELTAα 2x16GB DDR5-6000 kit from Amazon for as low as $99.99 USD. Anyone looking for high quality, extremely fast memory with a lifetime warranty should consider the TeamGroup DELTAα line.
