Bethesda's first patch for Starfield went live today, exactly one week after the sci-fi action RPG's general launch. While Starfield version 1.7.29 is more of a hotfix prioritizing stability and bug fixes across both Xbox and PC platforms, the developer has pledged to deliver on some of the most requested features from the community through upcoming updates.
These include more graphical settings that will allow users to (finally) manually adjust in-game brightness, contrast and field-of-view (FOV). Bethesda also teases additional optimizations in store for PC gamers with enthusiast-level hardware, such as support 32:9 ultrawide monitors and native DLSS support for Nvidia graphics cards.
Bethesda has also reassured that it still fully supports all existing and upcoming user-created mods for Starfield, with (official) Creation Engine 2 tools for cross-platform mods to be released "early next year".
